Island generation follows this basic pattern:
- Decide Island Size - This is based upon the sailor being used, and the ship type has no bearing.
- Decide Island Map - Purely random, based on a predefined pool of maps for each island size
- Determine Resource Nodes - These are based on the map itself. And the type of resource is determined by the sailor being used again.
- Determine Map Fertility - Based on sailor being used. Island size, map, and resource nodes have no impact on this.
- Determine Island Name - Random Selection.
Individual nodes are capable of spawning different resources. If there are two islands with the same layouts, one node can provide a different resource than a corresponding node in the same location on the other island.
Island slots[]
Island slots are found in the islands menu and can be unlocked either by expanding your settlement or by using rubies. 4 Islands slots are unlocked by population, while 4 slots can only be unlocked by using rubies.

Main island[]
Everyone starts on the same main island. It has a predetermined map, with resource nodes, fertilities, and name all decided before the game starts.These features are identical to all users.
Small islands[]
There are currently 5 known Small Islands.
Medium Islands[]
There are currently 4 known Medium Islands
Large Islands[]
There are currently 2 known Large islands.
